The Big Dream

     I have a dream; a goal I want to see succeed.  To live in a mansion and sit on that big chair.  Surrounded by servants.... that have really good hair.  I see myself sitting near my swimming pool.  I look around, and say "I did it!  I made my dream happen."  Man, how happy I look.  And when it happens, I will make the most of it.  I'll make myself that person everyone wants to be.  What about the money you may ask?  Well, I will surrounded in cash.  So much cash that I will buy anything I ever wanted, I'll buy my wife anything she ever wanted.  Money!  Man will I be rich!
     Well that's what I told myself.  But as I got older, the more I began to realize that my dream wasn't going to happen.  I wasn't going to live in a mansion, I wasn't going to sit in that big chair.  I wasn't going to be surrounded by servants with really good hair.  Why?  I didn't try hard enough, I didn't chase the dream.  I expected it all to come even without work.  I looked so much into the future, that I lost focus of the present.  The present, that is what is real; that is what counts.  If we don't give the present all we got, then we may not see ourselves where we want to be in the future.
     But it isn't too late!  There is still time to change!  Opportunities will come, and when they do, we must take it.  Don't let yourself lose your dream, always keep it your objective!  But if there is anything I want you to escape with today, it is that we must first get through the present before we see ourselves in the future...  Ask yourself, "Where will you be?"

Film Analysis

Batman Begins
Ordinary World:  Bruce grows up, falls in pit and gets scared of bats.  Parent's die, Bruce is arrested.
Call to Adventure:  Bruce wants to take revenge on his parents.
Refusal:  He doesn't know how to do it, doesn't want to kill.
Mentor:  His mentor shows up and teaches him how to fight.
Crossing the Threshold:  Bruce becomes Batman.
Tests:  Batman is lead on a chase for scarecrow and his parents killer.
Inmost Cave:  Plans to fight Scarecrow, resistance to the gas.
Ordeal:  Fight in Arkham, kills mentor in the train.
Reward:  Saves Gotham.
Road Back:  Batman returns as Bruce.
Resurrection:  Bruce has conquered his fear of bats.

My 50 word story

I need to go to school today.  The school-yard bully beats on me a couple of times.  And finally on the way home, I see an old man, at least seventy, preaching on the street corner.  "The world is coming to an end!" he declared.  And so it did...

Final Existence

A man awakens from his sleep during the night from a flash of lightning.  He hears something moving out in the hallway, what sounded like heavy boots hitting the floor on every step.  Finally, he hears the door slowly creek open.  He didn't dare look over at what was entering the room.

Man: Who... who is there?

(He could only hear the footsteps getting closer)

Man:  You should not be in here.

(The footsteps stop next to his bed)

Man:  Who are you?

(Silence)

Man:  Why don't you answer me?

Shadow:  I have come for something... Important.

Man:  Listen, if you want something, come by during the day.  I'm being generous to you by allowing you to  leave right now.  If you don't, I will have to get the authorities.

Shadow:  I will not leave until I collect what I have come for.

Man:  I asked you kindly before but this is your final warning.  GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!

Shadow:  Only a fool will stand up to his enemy alone...  Only a fool will stare straight in his enemies eyes alone.

Man:  Oh, so now you are my enemy?  I don't even know you.

Shadow:  No man knows me... I do not exist in this world... for them...

Man:  Who are you pretending to be?  You are not amusing me.

Shadow:  The others like you will get their turn.  For now, it is your time.

Man:  Time for what?

Shadow:  Time to end time.

Man:  Now you make no sense, you can't just end time.

Shadow:  This is what makes you a fool.  The final test has come.

Man:  So this is a test now?

Shadow:  Look me in the eyes and you will see your answer.

The man turns to face the intruder.  The shadow wore dark robes and a hood which covered its face in darkness.  Lightning strikes as the man gazes into the hood of the intruder revealing the most hideous eyes gazing back at him.  The man begins to feel light headed and suddenly feels as if he was ripped apart like a dozen spears have just pierced his heart.  The shadow lifts his arm toward the man sitting in amazement and torture, particles of dust begin to leave the mans body and collect in the hand of the shadow.

Man:  Argghhhh!  What are you doing to me?

Shadow:  Taking the soul of a fool.

Man:  Make it stop!  Please!  It hurts! Argghh!  Make it s...

Shadow:  One chance should be enough...

The man began to fade, his time was rapidly coming to an end.  He continued to scream until he was no longer existing.  He was taken from reality and memory, not one person will recall him ever living there in that custom-built house.  Wait what house?
